The Healing Arts of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu
Pain Management Through Mindfulness & Balance
The Danzan Ryu healing arts were developed as a form of physical therapy in the early 20th century by the founder of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, Professor Seishiro Okazaki. Okazaki refined, practiced and taught the healing art to hundreds of individuals in pre and post WWII Hawaii.
Master Okazaki was a world-renowned healer who treated patients such as President Franklin Roosevelt, George Burns, Charlie Chaplin, Carol Lombard, Johnny Weissmuller, and many others.
This Pacific-Asian healing system utilizes therapeutic bodywork, herbs, and energetic exchange to aid patients in “returning to normal.” This unique deep-tissue work is a phenomenally exact and mindful practice.
The benefits of its application are shared by both the giver and receiver. Advanced students go on to learn Okazaki Seifukujitsu therapies for a variety of specific ailments.
Danzan Massage is an extremely effective form of deep tissue bodywork designed to balance and restore the body to its optimal condition. If you suffer from neck and shoulder aches, low back pain, sciatica, or any type of chronic pain, ask for details about this 150-year-old system of healing. It could be the solution you have been looking for.
At our dojo, we have two practitioners who offer this restorative massage to the public. Professor Kevin Colton and Sensei Kerry Sego have both trained extensively in the art of Danzan Ryu Seifukujitsu and offer healing sessions by appointment.
Sensei Kerry Sego is a California Massage Therapy Council certified Massage Practitioner (#21035) and a graduate of the Danzan Ryu Seifukujitsu Institute.
